Who can receive ITV HD?

I have a Fortec Star HD Receiver from Maplin's, just before Christmas they sent it away to have its software tweeked so that it would receive ITV HD. It still wouldn't receive it till last week when I rescanned it. Great.

BUT

I also have a Comag 100HD receiver which will still not receive ITV HD. The settings for ITV HD (I believe)are 11428H & 27500V, this transmits a channel called "Brit Shorts TV" on the Comag receiver.

When I phoned Comag's service hotline, I was told that ITV HD is still not available becaude it belongs to ITV. I challenged him and told him that my Fortec Star receives it OK, he told me that it is illegal to receive ITV HD on a Comag unit because it is a EEC manufacturer.

Am I being given bull dropping?

l have the Humax it receive's all HD channels apart from Sky.

The short answer is 'yes', Big Al. A number of Continental receivers have no problem with ITV HD, for example:

- DVB Viewer:

- Homecast HS5101 CI;

- Topfield 7700 HDPVR

- Ferguson 8900

- Vantage 7100 HD

- Clarke-Tech HD-5000

- Humax HDCI-2000

Others do have a problem:

- Humax Icord

- Kathrein UFS 910

- Technisat HD S2

- Pace DS810

Note that there is a Humax model which can receve ITV HD and another which can't.

Others can receive ITV HD with an appropriate software update.

Thanks Nigel. Does your receiver display HD as a listed channel that you can tune into or is it a 'red button' channel that is a 'stream'?
