Jeep. How To?

Here we go again another numptie query!! How do we lock the tailgate without using the remote? We have 2tiny fluffs and when they are on guard in the Jeep while we are in Tesco etc we have to use the key to avoid them setting off the alarm but the tailgate wont lock this way.Have we got a fault or is there a sequence to use? It is a 2003 2.7 CRD LTD GRAND CHEROKEE.

Thursdays Child,

The best person to answer your query will be your Jeep dealer as the problem may be model/year specific.

He will be able to go through the locking processes with you.

Just a thought. Whilst in the caruse the button that locks all doors, then manualy open the driversdoor to get out, then lock drivers door with the key,

I have the latest Grand. You can de-activate the motion sensor on the alarm system.Yours may be the same. When you arm the alarm the red alarm indicator on the dash flashes fast, whilst its flassing fast press the lock button on the remote 3 times more witin 16 secs (from the operating guide)The rest of the alarm funtions as normal.IE monitoring of doors bonnet etc.

Give it a go

Hi Sandra

We have had a 2004 Grand from new. Do you have the handbook for the car as it explains everything on page 29. If not let me know and I will reply with the full paragraph from the handbook.

YES.YES,YES!!!!!!!!

Many Thanks RAY,LEE C and all.We have just used the sequence suggested and it works!!!Now we dont have to worry about anyone being savaged by Maddie May and Ruby Doo our 2 tiny Pomeranians.Himself does have a handbook but never remembers where he has put it.Yes,I also think it should be in the car.If you have seen some of the questions I have had to get answers for you would be amazed to know he is a retired HGV driver with 45 years experience.I think he misses having something following behind him so makes do with the caravan.OH WELL as long as I can get help from all you good folk I am content!

THANKS AGAIN
