Jet Wash - Can you use on Caravan ?

Excellent, and correct advice from Bailey. A pressure washer will be far too powerful for most caravans.
Caravans are not like cars. Most of the seals between panels are of mastic based materials, windows are plastic, and any nice lettering to brand the caravan is simply stuck on. Shall I go on?
Put it this wasy. there is NO WAY I would use a pressure washer on MY caravan. Nice soft water and lots of gentle TLC with a sponge. Then a good polish. It will last you years.

As Ogre has said, using a jet wash is one of the worst things that you can do when washing your caravan.
I use a hose with very low water pressure on my caravan to wash off and grit or dirt from the road before using a lambswool wash mitt with warm water and Fenwicks. Black streaks will come off if you use undiluted Fenwicks in a spray bottle and then rub the streaks with the sponge or mitt.
I rinse using the low pressure hose and dry the caravan with a squeegee and microfibre cloth.

Top Man. You wouldn't believe how fast a pressure washer can literally strip the branding transfers and seals off a van. They just peel and break away before your eyes!! And they are VERY EXPENSIVE to replace.
Have used power washer for three years now without any problems on our Coachman.I use it on fine spray which comes out like a cloud and use common sence on sensitive parts.
Believe it or not but the Haynes caravan manual actually recommends careful use of a pressure cleaner, I was in the HGV motor trade for 30 years and Ive seen the damage those things can do to a vehicle cab
Interestingly I have seen 3 caravan dealerships in my area regularly cleaning secondhand and new caravans with a pressure washer ! One of them actually offers it as a free after service perk.
Surely they are not just drumming up new business for the damage they cause !!

I use a jet wash on the bottom of my boat to get the barnacles, slime and antifouling off - if it can do that then just think what it can do with the seals, windows and decals on a caravan
Is it not a matter of distance and pressure? I bet if you're 10 feet from your boat all the barnacles will suffer is a light fresh water shower. You need to hold the lance pretty close to a surface to take transfers off. Like Robert says, there is nothing wrong with SENSIBLE use of a pressure washer to give a rinsing spray.
I said earlier on this thread about i often use our power washer for the caravan and said i use it on the spray setting. Of course you would be out of your mind having it on any other setting.It does no harm at all doing it this way.
