jockey wheel

I need to replace the whole of my jockey wheel; is it just a case of buying the right size (diameter) from a caravan store and releasing the clamp on; lifting the front end high enough to remove it and insert the new one ?

The cost of a new jockey wheel is not expensive, hence I'm thinking there is something more complicated than it looks !!

Callum, I presume you mean the whole unit change, and not just the wheel.

If this is so, then as you have already found out, raise the front of the caravan as high as it will go, raise the jockey wheel tube as high as it will go, then wind the wheel down until it detaches from the main tube.

Remove the wheel and tube, then remove the main tube from the clamp, replace in reverse order, main tube first, then slide the wheel yube in and wind up.
