Just passing through.

Hi to those who remember me, for good or bad
Just passing by and thought I'd say hello and to see if everyone is behaving. No doubt Parksy will have Kev and Dusty under control. Hi to Colyn ap Brydgynd if he still posts, I miss extracting the urine out of him.
Thanks for the info Kev, via Stewart, and yes that is the Toby we were planning on going to. Maybe we ought to try the Plymouth one instead although having Toby's on my satnav we have used them all over the country and have yet to find a bad one. We normally go when they are open at 12 but have had bad reports from friends who use them later in the day though.
BTW I'm quite impressed that I could still log on despite not posting for years and having to guess my login details. Obviously there are still a few brain cells still alive and kicking in my old noddle.
Take care all and go careful lugging those white wobble boxes about and I for one can't wait despite our first week away next week being in a signal box for our 50th.

Nice to see you poking your nose back in LB, glad you are all well up there and congrats for the 50th

About the Toby, my next door neighbour was the first manager there after they purchased it and did the major refurb, we were given the VIP treatment the night before the official opening, yes the staff were wet behind the ears but the food was not up to scratch. But we went back a few weeks later and it still wasnt any good, so we tried a breakfast a few weeks later, left that on the table!!!!! Havent been back since...and no the neighbour doesnt work there any more.
But think you could be right about the early bird catches the worm.

Oh and hope you are still feeding my bear you have in your back garden.
Have fun in the signal box B)

Hi Lord B, I hope that you and Lady B are keeping well πŸ™‚
How could we forget you, many of us miss your humour and wit amongst the more informative comments.
Colin hasn't been on here for years, I think he went over to the dark side and bought a camper van or motorhome but there are still a few of the loyal and trusty old lags left from the original steam powered forum who offer good advice to anyone who needs it, and there's a good sprinkling of newer regulars and complete novices to keep this forum interesting.
As it happens, we visited the Toby carvery in Plymouth around 15 months ago.
The food was average for a Toby, and Herself remembers not being very warm in the restaurant, but our visit was on a November afternoon.
Congratulations on your 50th Anniversary, pull up a Lafuma and stay for a chat anytime that you're passing by. πŸ™‚
