Just to say hello from Dorset

Hi, we have just purchased a secondhand Bailey Vendee.

We used to caravan many years age, but changed to various motorvans. However the problems in car parks etc. have convinced us to go back to a tourer.

Car is a Kia Sportage 2.0 TD

Welcome Barry - having done the same going from caravan to motor home and then back to caravan. The one thing I do not understand - you live in a beautiful part of the UK so why go from there on holidays. We very often visit Poole and the surrounding area and thoroughly enjoy it. Only wish I could afford to retire to Poole.

Hi Barry and welcome, know Poole, Dorset quite well as hubby born there, and we also lived in Poole for a short time.

Now I know why Colin wants to retired to Poole, something to do with the beach lots of smilies. Liz

Welcome Barry.

What a lovely part of the country you live in. Good luck with your new caravan - sure you'll enjoy the freedom of having the 'solo' car. Rob's parents have a motorhome and love it but we can't help but think how restrictive it is. They use public transport a lot which is ok when you're a retired couple but would be a lot more difficult (and expensive) for our family of 5!

Enjoy.

Barry, I live in Corfe Mullen. I see that you have gone back to a van from motorvan. I am tempted to go in the opposite direction but like yourself would find it too restrictive when trips out from site. Perhaps when I finally retire and spend a few months at a time on the continent I will take the plunge.
