But due to the design it will also stand up by itself without any form of guy ropes, even with the both front panel's open :silly: can your Suncamp do this ?

Sproket, wish I could post the photoes , but mine is the 260, which only has one front panel, and the inflatable tube goes all the way from one side to the other, , google Sunncamp swift 260, and go to images, ( granny sucking eggs) I am sure you know how to do that . Totally different to the 330, the 260 falls forward so much easier to pack up after removing from the van.
So maybe I should have just kept stum on this thread, just trying to help,
at the moment dog sitting in Storrington, sussex, in a brick house.

Have a read of this link

And maybe this will help by explaining how to put photos on the forum from a PC

When you upload a photo to photobucket you then need to click on the link at the side of the word Direct, it will highlight and quickly say copied ...

BUT If you are using an ' I ' pad ?
In the share links box on photobucket copy the bottom one that say's IMG and paste that into the same box as before .... ;)

Pcv%20picture%20help%202_zps3nfcboor.jpg

When you click on the tab to insert a photo you need to remove the htpp:// before you paste your link into that box

Pcv%20picture%20help%201_zpszxo4nfoc.jpg

The box will then look like this ...

Pcv%20picture%20help%203_zpswiiaqw6y.jpg

Then put a size into the box for the photo size and past the link into the box below.

Pcv%20picture%20help%204_zpsyhd6g4re.jpg

Just remember that when you click insert it will put the photo were the cursor is .....

Thats the one, doesn't show the wine holders on the doors though. , it is really versitile, for short times away , still have a 390 carbon lite for when we find a good pitch in France, this is so light to carry and easy to put up. You also dont need the forward and side tiedowns if in good weather. But always put them on for the night. Thanks for the piccy , i will try on test photos again.
Thank you again.
Hutch.

I have the same as Sproket.
I know the carbon x poled Izzy will make an easily identifiable allowance for slopes because I can lengthen or shorten the poles on one side. The canvas skirt will be higher or lower one end. No problem.
The Kampa as far as I can see has fixed length air poles. If I pitched her on a slope wouldn't that put a twist in the roof panel and wouldn't the rear legs be out of sink?
That said I haven't tried it that way yet. Hopefully I never will. I hate pitches like that :woohoo:

Amazingly but with some great help over the air waves (sic) from His Royal Woosieness The Kampa Rally Air has withstood 5 days and nights of Hurricane force weather.
Last night the gusts were in excess of 90 mph according to the local weather
reports. Some pegs have pulled out. 8" screw pegs. The 15" storm strap pegs held fast. One air leg has twisted but this is easily remedied once the weather improves.
I was sceptical and initially wished we had brought the Izzy.
A credit to Kampa this awning has endured the worst weather I've experienced in years .
Am I impressed? YES!!!

The new Kampa stood up to eight days hurricane winds with gusts over 80mph. I didn't expect to see it again!
Note how the front leg at 12psi has actually bent completely over. The only thing that kept it up was the storm strap and the 18 " pegs.

I think this proves the Kampa is a worthy awning and performs probably better than Kampa think!!

Sir WC
years ago alloy and steel poles bent and stayed bent.
My carbon fibre X poles have flexed. Never broken and always returned straight.
The Kampa tubes are relatively large diameter at 12psi. That makes them virtually unbendable. Yet you see the pic. I was impressed.

So could this years [strike]Kampafest[/strike] :eek:hmy: Woosiefest see a few more of these incredible inventions B) the strength of the stitching & material shows just how good they are when under that intense wind pressure and no damage has been done.

That was why I was careful to say 'in your location' so we were comparing like for like including wind speed and exact direction (angle of attack). ;)[/quote

No other Forumites were there. In fact for most of the time we were alone

Hello Sprocket,

We used our Kampa Rally Air Pro 200 at Ferry Meadows over the New Year period and it stood up well to 50+ mph winds, with no protection of any kind. You were correct it did leak on the first night, as did two other new ones on the site, but the following morning after more rain, it did seem to be water tight. Lets hope it stays that way in the future, however better if we get plenty of sunny weather. As we will not use if for a month or two, I am waiting to see how it performs next time it has rain on it with a little apprehension.

Regards,

George

We have the Kampa air ace 400,brilliant awning but as you asked about sloping pitch we found that to be a problem, the front of the van was up alot so pegging down no problem, but t he back end was very close to the ground, hence the peg holes in the awning were below ground level if you see where im coming from,so there was no way could it be pegged down straight,we had to pull it out at an angle which left us with a gap between the awning and the side of the van, this was the first time we had this problem but now we know its a level pitch from now on.
