I would be interested to get forum users views on their expected life for lightweight porch awnings.
I was one of the early customers for the KAMPA Rally Pro 390 awnings (it is 4 years old now) and while I have been very pleased with the awning generally both in its ease of assembly, weather proofing and storm handling ability I have recently found problems. The webbing securing the awning to the external support pole clamps and most of the ground pegs has rotted and failed meaning that the awning cannot be used.
Am I alone in this respect of my expectation of an awning use-able life?
I should welcome your views.

Hi Jeff, I have the same one and about the same age, but your question can be debatable, how often have you used it?
I suppose I have used mine for no more than a week at any one time and mostly 3 to 4 night at a time about 7/8 times a year, yes it is grubby but not had any problems with it.

Yes, good point.
I suppose that we have used it about 10/ 12 weeks per year but 4 weeks or so annually in good sunshine in France. The black has faded to dark grey and the front awning ropes have lost their colour as well and are now brown/ yellow. I guess that is to be expected but the webbing straps are more fundamental to the operation of the awning and it will not hold up in any significant breeze (as well as looking baggy).
But it seems that my problem is unique at the moment.
Jeff
