As you may or may not know Stinky it has been intimated by some that Kanga and myself are the same person, however has we have already pointed out on this forum we are not. We are, however, work colleagues (this we have also admitted on the forum) and that's why we tend to post at the same time on many occasions. The RIP refers to the fact that he has been informed by the moderator that he no longer is allowed to be a member on the forum. As a colleague I can say, without doubt, that he is a committed caravanner who enjoys his pastime at least as much and possibly more than any other 'vanner I know. It is with a heavy heart that I have to say farewell to someone who has provided, a sometimes rude, sometimes biased, sometimes contentious remark but that was always given with a tongue in cheek mentality that everyone else on the forum could never see. He was a character you either tolerated, liked or loathed. Which ever of these three categories an individual member chooses to put him in I for one wish him all the best and feel that Mr. Mod. has made a mistake as Kanga was changing his ways of late and was no worse than some others. Wow, that's probably the longest post I have seen you make Dave! I too won't be happy to see Kanga go, I wouldn't like anyone to be forced away from the Forum, but I'm sure that if he wants to come back, he will manage it somehow. He was changing, as you mentioned, and perhaps given enough time would have made a full recovery.
Must admit, whenever he posted, I was interested in what he had to say, most times I didn't agree, but he had that effect. Should I send flowers or would he like donations sent to his beloved charity the 4x4 owners club? He's not getting a crate of Fosters, that's for sure!

Hi Dave,sorry to hear about Kanga I to found his posts entertaining not always agreeing with him but definitely entertaining,what has he done thats so wrong?
I too will miss his unique way of contributing to this forum, not to everyones liking I know. However, it is a shame that the decision to ban him was made at a time when he seemed to be tempering his way of responding. Being a relative new-comer I sometimes feel that I shouldnt be seen to show sympathy towards this character but I do not feel ashamed to say that I for one will miss his banter and was quite happy to ignore anything that I felt was out of order as a way of dealing with it. This is purely my own opinion and not meant to inflame any one. Cheers, Derek.
Hi Big Roy, to get your question answered you would have to ask the Moderator. Whilst I admit that he is a colleague the fact that he was banned so abruptly affected him to the extent that he was not prepared to divulge (at the time anyhow) what exactly he (the mod.) had said, not even to me. But it must have been something to do with one or more of his recent postings which, as I have already stated, where no worse than some others seen on the forum.
Wll thats a real shame coz I thought he was hilarious,sometimes coming out with things I was thinking but would'nt dare say !!! I think his last comment to the mod may have had someat to do with it but who knows, !! Kanga see you in Henley mate !!! xx

Well, as you probably know I wasn't a great fan of Kanga. However, I must admit that if I saw any postings from him, I always read them and quite often had a giggle.
Will you give him my best wishes as I will actually miss him and I did notice the content of his more recent postings seemed to be changing for the better.
By the way, is he a blonde beach boy adonnis?

Dave you know I said it was strange that at work I couldn't log in, yet at home I could post, yes we found out today by e-mailing the mod that he had decided to strike my account. Well at home as you know I have a computer that runs the unix operating system which never ever crashes and doesn't need to be shut down so i keep constantly logged onto the forum WELL I'm still logged on!
This does mean i can't post from work in the lunch but it does mean I can post from home! Yeeeeha!
I would like to say many thanks to all those that took the time and effort in posting their support for me, it was very heartening .......... a big mushy kiss for all concerned, well the sheila's anyhow!
Dave I will be having words monday............... "Adonis" "a bit" I'll have your p45 ready!
Some might be asking what have i done to deserve being struck off? as you say of late i had not been so extreme, this being due to me and Clive agreeing to disagree.
What many users may not know is that the Mod is now deleting lots of postings and not just mine, but anything that does not keep to the thread. So any little funny comment that creates a laugh is deleted, any double entendre, any innuendo is taken off or the so called offending item is removed from the posting, so that you will find your posting only contains that which refers to the thread.
I have been e-mailing the Mod complaining about this without much success, so I resorted to likening him to Idi Amin, this didn't go down too well, especially when I said that Idi was a misunderstood person! The final showdown came when i posted accusing him of treating the forum like a nanny state and treating us all like children. There was support from users who don't get involved in the banter and to the Mods shame he removed this criticism of him ............ isn't that just what dictators do?
Anyhow as lol says I will find a way to get back and obviously have, I will now continue at my free will to openly criticise the moderation of this forum until the right balance is achieved.

Don't be like that Clive, although I consider you as our "big gun" when it comes to the 4x4 debate, it's also worth remembering that there is no good without evil, not that there is anyone particularly good or evil, but you get my point. You enjoyed your discussions with Kanga too, with him gone, who will be your sparring partner now? You know, and I know, you love the debate.

I will miss Kanga,I think his posts of late showed that he was getting as bored of the 4x4 debate as everyone else.I posted a plee to Kanga recently to get back to his old humourous postings and I think he was doing just that.Its ironic that all the abusive posts in the past were not acted on but as soon as he critised the Moderator he was banned...Brian.

LRe (a land rover forum) was dropped by the LRe mag recently. It seems that the forum became more of a problem than an asset.
