Keep cool in the South of France

Hi
Off to the south of France, has anyone fitted a fan in their van or how do you keep cool.
Any suggestion for a decent fan that doesn't cost the earth

A standard domestic oscilating fan is cheap cheearful, light and probably as effective asy any propritry cost the earth caravan design.

Some people go to the extreme of fitting air conditioning, but frankly with the limited power available they don't do as much as people normally wan't - a very expensive mistake which can also use up a lot of payload capacity.

As prof says a decent oscilating fan, one thats got a built around cage is usefull as hanging a damp tea towel over it and pegging it down gives a few minutes of air con effect....

Extractor fans, like Omnivent, work well at taking out high level hot air and drawing in cooler air from lower level - but most UK caravans have been de-spec'd recently to make them options, not standard.

As well as the fan consider a simple canopy on both sides, or one opposite the awning, and a front window canopy.
