Kept in the dark

Just back from the NEC and lokked at the Swift stand but for some reason all vans now have 'ambient lighting' in other words no 'dome lights just lights above some lockers and LED spots.I asked the sales staff if they could turn of the additional show only extra lights but they could not. They said the darkness of the exhibition halls made it look dark, try a site at night was my response.

Yet again vans designed by non caravanners.

Response from Swift would be interesting

I think it's called progress, we now have to have energy saving lights which are too dim to see with or at least to read by, so you have to have more of them on and because they don't reach their full brightness for several minutes you just leave them on.

Progress or what???

The Plotter,

I couldn't agree more. I seem to have to spend all my time turning on every light in my new Conqueror.

I would give anything for a centre dome light.

I have already fitted an additional fluorescent in the bathroom.

Its called design over functionality!!!!!!!

Showing my age now but l can remember the old gas mantles at the front of the van in the centre, they gave more light out than the LED's, one reason we bought the end of line 08 Ace Firestar instead of the 09 one didn't like the LED spots in the 09.
