BTW, thanks Moley, I haven't looked at the site yet, but anything that gives out information freely is most welcome. It is at least a starting point.Does it hurt to have a second opinion, .neil? Might save your life or someone else's. Or even your bank balance. You don't appear to have been on the forum long, judging by a search, so perhaps you may not know this, Lutz is one of the few on the forum, that could be described as an expert. Having been in the "motor world" for a very long time indeed and with connections, should he be not able to answer something, he is a guiding light on this forum. So I suppose he is a smart ass. We would do well to have asses as smart as his.

i have been on this forum well over a year which has nothing to do with anything
i know what my car and caravan weigh and i know everything there is to know about towing in a safe way
your right that a second opinion doesnt hurt, but some times on this forum some people like to slat every little thing said ,just for the sake of it
i dont feel the need to do that ,and thats why i dont respond to every little thing
i found that moleys site said the same as my hand book for my car ,so it wasnt far off
but if you want a rough guide moleys site is a good help
I quite agree, .neil. There are those on this forum that prefer to berate another's choice. Don't have an end bathroom, they take up too much room, don't have a fixed bed they take up too much room, don't have a twin axle they take up too much room....etc etc etc. Most of these topics are down too personal preference. What is sublime to one family may be horrendous for another. However, in the technical dept there are rules and regs, bad advice can be lethal and as such venturing into this topic may have repercussions. Lutz was only trying to highlight that the chosen site was not totally accurate and as such should be viewed that way and not that he didn't want anyone using it. There are those on the forum, who are, for want of a better word, beginners. The site that Dave mentions, would be a good place to start for them, but they may not know it, they may take it that those published figures are absolute, which would be wrong. You might know better, I might know better, but they may not.lol
