Kia Sedona 2006 On Automatic Diesel

Any body tow with latest model 2.9 diesel auto Sedona?Whats it like, mpg stability etc.Any comments, good or bad welcomed. It's a lot of money if it isn't any good.Previous model was superb economic tow car.

hi peter, i had an 07 sedona that had the same problem as the fleet one in the pc mag this month. it lost power under excelaration. it went in the garage for 6 weeks so in the end i handed it back and went and picked a santa fe cdx 7.

i found out after that it was a metering unit part of the fuel system which i had told them about as i had spoken to a kia dealer in suffolk and he had done 6 of these on the new shape.

trouble is the machine wont pick a fault up unless it happens 3 times which it did but then it has to have the check light on when its plugged into the machine.

anyway to cut a long story short it was a fab towcar. it pulled great but its a new model and i think with new models you will get problems until there ironed out.

i had real problems with the electric doors not closing properly not opening etc etc and the metering unit fault. there was a couple of other faults but nothing major.

because of the faults and customer service i got with kia it did put me off. i would have gone for a sedona if the service had been better.

Just to say that I had a Sedona diesel auto as a hire car last month. The economy was truly terrible - less than 25mpg solo and that was mixed driving with me trying to be careful. You could watch the fuel gauge go down. I get 28mpg when towing with my Touran.
