Kia servicing cost /warranty

I've just had a call from our dealership because the Sorentos 2nd service is due the 5th May. So I asked for the cost. The first service was £270 and I balked at that

OMG £405 yep £405. The girl went to to explain that the 2nd service is a major one and they do check the paint to keep the warranty valid. So part of the cost to check the paint is £50

To say I'm shocked is an understatement

So my question is. Have any of you had servicing done at an independent garage that used genuine Kia parts and this still kept your warrant valid ?

Have a look at :-

For a main dealer that's not bad.

There's a lot of oil for changing and I think the brake fluid gets changed too ( I'll have to check that one).

Providing you use genuine parts and all the specified oils there is nothing stopping you using a non franchised dealer. Keep all the receipts for the parts and oil and also make sure the garage stamp your service history book.

BUT will they know all the "quirks" of a Sorento?

Will they know what TOD oil is?

Cheers
