Kia Sorento diesel

i have a Kia Sorento diesel the engine keeps popping the oil dipstick out is this because the engine is presurising? If so is there an easy solution.thanks for taking the time to read

Crankcase over-pressure does sound like the issue - there will be breather pipe(s) to take the inevitable piston blow-by gases into the inlet circuit for re-ingestion, these may be blocked - or the piston rings are so badly worn that too much gas is escaping from the combustion chambers.

It needs a good mechanic to look at it.

Thanks I would have thought piston by pass only because it's done 102000 miles I will have someone look at it only because it's such a good tower.

As Roger says, its going to breath, everything breaths to a degree it has too.But at 100k i would still expect bore/ring wear to be low.Unless of course its been hot.More like a breather is blocked or turbo pressure is entering the crankcase.Perhaps even an injector sleeve/seal issue.

Hi Darren

Ask on this Kia Forum. They have some fantastic experts.

My last Sorento was pxd at 136000, no smoke , sweet as a nut.

It sounds very much like a blocked breather. You say she stills pulls well so I assume you haven't noticed any loss of power or smoking from the exhaust.

Please let us know the final outcome.
