Hi.

Was wondering if anyone has stayed on the above site.

Basically, its just me and the wife with a little dog looking for a peaceful stay and a few walks direct from the site into woodland or country side.

Could i ask for any comments please.

Many thanks.

I haven't stayed there Adrian but did look at the place in Google street view. It seems to be quiet and off the beaten track except for the nearby rail line.

There are two things that would concern me. One is the narrow lanes to get there and the other is the charge for dogs without, it seems, having any provisions for them.

The CC site at Marazion might fit your bill. It has no shower block and pitches can be uneven on grass but there is a wood to take your dog. Nice and peaceful.

Adrian, we staid there at the begining of this month. A very pritty little site with great owners, nothing too much trouble.

All pitches are water and waste hookup which is good. If you have a large caravan awning and car you will struggle to get it all onto the pitch. The toilet block was a let down for us, the heating was on so low it didnt do much (and it was cold at the beging of this month), not the best toilet block either.

No dog walk on site but there are alot of bridalways close to the site but if your going soon I doubt if you will use them as they are vey muddy.

All in all we had a good week, Will we go back? proberbly not as we were disapointed with the toilet block and we like to go walking from site without having to use the car.

If your cc members have a look at Godrevy park in Hayle. A lovely site with great walks from the site over the dunes to the beach. Find the lifesavers hut on top of the cliffs and you can walk the dog on the beach to the left of it (looking out to sea).

Hope ive been of help

Thank you for all your comments.

We would need a shower block and a igree that charges are made for dogs without much provision for them.

Trucker. Were you dissapointed that you were not able to go walking from the site without using the car? or have i read it wrong?.We are members of the caravanning and camping club,so maybe will have a look at the other suggestions too.

Thank again.

If cost is not a problem then you could try carnon downs just Falmouth side of Truro, good walking from the site, with walks available from reception free. Fantastic toilet blocks well heated, lovely site but................

you have to pay for the quality!!

You could still look at Godrevey park as it takes non members of the cc and a fantastic location

Thank you.

I should have mentioned that it didnt have to be in Cornwall.

Have just found a suitable site called

Exe Valley Caravan Site in Bridgetown near Dulverton,Devon.

Sounds ideal for us 2 old codgers and the dog

Have read the 44 reviews and will be contacting them in the morning for a possible booking the first week of September.

Thanks once again.

Hi Trucker.

Having read all the reviews on the site (44 in all i think)i emailed them last night to book the first week in September and had a confirmation email from them within 1 hour to confirm we were booked.

We are in Bristol(Approx.65 miles from that site i believe).

They recommend M5 to junction 27 follow the A361 to Tiverton.

Pick up the A396 and the site is approx 7 miles after passing Exebridge near the Badgers Holt Inn.
