Kitchen Tap

I have a 2012 Lunar Quasar 546, the Kitchen tap pulls out of the casing, this has been happening for a while but i'm pretty sure it did not happen when new. I have managed to stick my hand under the sink and assumed i would need to tighten something up but it appears not to be the case. I have managed to take a photo of the underneath and compared it to the setup with the bathroom tap and cant see any noticeable difference

It appears better access will be gained from removing the kitchen sink (am i able to put it back as easily as i can remove it?) which i will do tomorrow but just wondered if anyone knew if i need to replace the complete tap or just a bolt or screw. Or is it simply the case the tap is faulty.

Hi JPP27 and Welcome :) .

Any chance of a pic with the tap removed from the tap head, I'm just wondering if it is a push fit tap having O'Ring seals, just a guess though.

I remember someone having the same problem about a year ago, maybe a hunt through the threads might help.

If it's any help it appears to be a Reich Keramik Trend S mixer tap - about 70.00 to replace - although later versions appear to have a nylon threaded base and nut whereas yours appears to be brass/steel.

Thank you, that is exactly the same tap and the same issue.

I took myself off to Leisure World yesterday as this was a real head scratcher. They had a replacement tap in stock which had a screw fit to the top casing and my tap did not. The cost of a replacement was £99.99 so I purchased some Gorilla glue and stuck it together. (i doubt it will hold)

It was actually a relief that it is a design fault and not repairable (glue aside) I also noticed from the thread that a replacement can be sourced for around £25 so if the glue does not hold I will undertake a replacement.

You will be hearing a lot from me in the coming weeks/months as I have decided to stick with the van we have and not press go on the Unicorn Segovia that the children fell in love with. It seems that a 5.5 year old caravan needs a lot of running repairs and will be taking up a lot of my time. I'm looking forward to developing my skills, with the forum's help, and along the way expanding my toolbox from the family joke of a Swiss arm knife and superglue.

Thank you all again for the advice.
