kuga wiring harness

hi all
picked my new kuga on saterday now trying to sort the tow bar out .Its the wiring harness thats giving me the problem i only want the lights working i don't want the batt charging ect . but i do want the trailer sway control for warranty purpose i must use ford harness and module and then get it programmed ? Can it be done

Hello Gravesyt,

I'm sure it could be done, but why? It will probably cost more to have custom fit and reprogram than just having the standard fit. also consider the future, you may at some time find you need the trailer battery charging facility, and when you come to sell the car, a non standard system could actually devalue the car.

I suggest go for the standard fit, and simply don't connect the wires in the trailer plug to the cars battery charge / and fridge circuits.

was having a re-thinks and going over thing last night got to thinking if I don't turn the master switch = not charging of the batt and nothing else should be drawing any power from the car except the lights which is what I am after unless there is a bypass system she a bailey gt60 520/4 But as you said its best to get the full system. Thanks again 🙂
