It's a bit like the news headlines on MSN and similar on Facebook, they have some sort of hard hitting/shock/horror headline that is actually nothing like/way exaggerated on the real news story. They just like to shock/scare the reader with the headline only and hope they don't actually read the content.

Had to have a grim when I read this headline in our local rag. https://www.worcesternews.co.uk/news/25130056.highway-code-5-000-air-conditioning-warning-drivers/ I wonder if they realise that there are thousands of cars on the roads that do not have air con? Who is going to travel on any road at speed with their window open when you have the noise, the wind and worst of all increased fuel consumption. The latter should make the greenies and tree huggers happy! 🤣
They only print such articles because with the dry spell there’s nothing that they can say about flooding in the area. šŸ˜‚

Evidence of why I do not read this rubbish. My wife keeps on looking at things like it and getting tempted to click on the varrious links within the articles. Then complain when she is told her tablet has a virus.

Sometimes Google news pops up and going by the headlines Max Verstappen has left Red Bull at least 10 times.

A bit (that is a lot) wasteful if opening windows with air con on.

John
I never did see the point in vehicles being fitted with a sun roof if you have air con? If fitted with the panoromic roof which generally cannot be opened, it allows the sun to heat up the car quicker. What is the point of having a sun roof open in the hot sun and also operating the air con?

Absolutely no point in having the AC on with any window or sliding roof open, thought that was so obvious! But a panoramic roof is lovely, they brighten up the car and make it less claustrophobic.

Panoramic sun roof every time for me, wouldn’t have a car without one, absolutely love them.

My brother has a panoramic roof in his Sportage, it's lovely but he insists on having it open, with Aircon on. Daft.
I think he has a sun roof if he can open it? I think the panoromic roof is glass only and you cannot open it? However you are correct about having it open with air con on. The only time we opened ours on the Jeep was if we had to leave the dogs in the car for a short while.

In just anyone queries why, the side windows were also left open about 2 inches. We had draught deflectors fitted and with the window gap, it helped with air flow. Plus they were not left on their own for a long time .i.e. 30 minutes.
