Advice please, I'm due to visit cc site Lady Margrets Park at Chirk starting Sunday 19th. Im told that some of the pegs can get rather waterlogged after plenty of rain etc, and the glades is a bit gloomy no matter the time of year. What are the best pegs to get, if available and should I switch to another site, again if possible, that has all weather pitches.100mile rad of Wigan!! with easy access to a pub etc and good Dog walks.

Any takers please???

Hi Bri

We had a part seasonal pitch at Lady MP during the Autumn a couple of years ago. We loved it. There are a choice of 2 areas - an open one the central grassy area or the more secluded pitches in woodland. I presume that is what you call the Glades. We had on of the latter and did not find it too dark and enjoyed the privacy it provided. The park is in a lovely area with several good pubs and an interesting walk along the canal complete with tunnel and aqueduct - and a pub near the towpath. The kids and we loved it this rural area. There are several shops in the village including a small co-op supermarket. Chirk castle is right next to the Park although we never got around to visiting it. It has very handy acess from the A5/A483 (Wrexham road) and Wrexham and Llangollen are in easy driving distance. If the the Cadbury's factor is still on the far side of the village it gives off a lovely chocalatey smell although it cannot be seen from the site. I don't recall there being a problem with flooding but there may be. We didn't use our awning on our hardstanding pitch but I think the wardens sold rock-pegs so that's perhaps a clue to what some of the pitches are like.

My advice would be GO FOR IT MATE.

Regards

Tim
