LAKE COMO

We visited all three lakes and have to say that for a visitor Lake Como is the one to avoid. George Clooney and others may have villas there but they are on the lakeside - which is very difficult to get to for we mere mortals.
Lake Garda is very pleasant and accessible almost all round from the road and can be very warm and busy. Access to Verona (by road or train) and Venice (by train) is relatively quick and cheap.
Lake Magiorre is rather more mountainous but less busy than Garda and equally pleasant. Train to Milan is quick and cheap.
