Lake District Midges?

Yes still raining here. Persistent rain has given way to frequent downpours. Even bought the dog a raincoat. She is not impressed.
Anyway, isn’t this the week that Kev is away. Seems his raingod prowess continues in spite of his break from Caravanning and reaches 4 hours up the M6 from Hereford. 😂

Have you seen the forecast! 😲Raining for the rest of the week and now 40mph winds tonight and tomorrow for here. Wondering if I need to take the awning down?

Now the dogs are gone we don’t bother with the awning. But 40 mph forecast winds , gusts probably higher, I’d take it down now even wet, It will soon dry out at home

We are off to Keswick mid September and I have heard that the Lake District can be a bit midgy. Anyone have any experience?
If midges are likely, beside good old Avon Skin so Soft are there recommendations for repellents or plug ins for the van.
TIA

From personal experience in some northern Midge rich areas of Scotland , I can highly recommend the following.

I have heard that they stopped making it until thy were made aware of its its insect repellent properties, and now its back.
