Excellent site. Large level hardstanding pitches. Some full facility pitches. The site was redeveloped by the C.C. about 2 years ago. Toilet block up to the highest caravan club standards. Good pub about 400 yards from site, serves good food. You do not have to walk out on the road, there is a path from the site. Main shopping at Tiverton. Small shops and couple of nice pubs in Dulverton. Good views from most pitches. Good dog walk. You may have gathered we really like this site.

Jo-anne,

I have always classed it as Somerset, but does not take long to get to the Devon coast.

We are walkers and like the small villages and superb country pubs.

Not too far to the coast and beaches, but you are inland.

You could travel over Exmoor to Minehead and Butlins.

Jo-anne we did pop into the site just after it reopened and I must say it did look very nice. The only thing I would say is for a couple of years you wont get alot of privicy frome pitch to pitch as the cc have used small shrubs to seperate them, which will take a while to grow into hedges, cant tell you more than that untill weve staied. And yes we would love to go sooner but bloody work gets in the way of our holidays hehe

Jo- anne,

Agree entirely with you over Butlins! In all my 65 years i have only been to Butlins once for one day. That was 30 plus years ago and i said never again. As you say you like nice villages and pretty places so i am sure you will love the area.

While you are at Lakeside, when you go to Dulverton have a look at Exmoor House C.C.site which is in Dulverton. We much prefer Lakeside but some people prefer Exmoor House due mainly to the fact that you can walk a couple of hundred yards into Dulverton from the site. Whereas the loo block at Lakeside is superb, the loo blocks at Exmoor House are tiny and old fashioned. The wardens at Lakeside are excellent. Have to say that as they are friends!!!, however i can assure you it has not clouded my judgement.

You're right about everything on the Lakeside site except that you haven't mentioned that, unless they have been sorted, some of the hardstandings on the top and middle level get VERY badly flooded after heavy rain. Otherwise a lovely site.

John

PS the site is in Somerset but the vierws are of Devon. I think the river is the county boundary
