Hi aidan,

Most laminates become very slippy if you are wearing wet shoes or spill something,

They tend to be quite cool to the touch which may be a problem in autumn winter and spring seasons.

The laminate flooring is probably heavier than the same area of carpet.

Consider a good quality linoleum with cushion floor backing. Some quiet convincing patterns, Easy to clean, soft to the touch, and with the foam backing not so cold to the barefoot touch. Still slippy when wet.

I had pondered using laminate but worried that there might be a chance of the individual pieces of laminate lifting at the edges as the original floor flexes when travelling so decided against it.

Hi Aidan,

I had the same thought with my old Avondale, ended up using laminate effect lino, looked good, light weight.

Only problem is that i believe carpets are fitted before the furniture so tricky getting right up to the edge, also got a set of removeable mats made from a place in Coventry for under
