Lands end

I have not been to this site but the last time I was at Land's End it was a total financial rip off. they wont be seeing me there again in a hurry. I asked my wife to stand by the sign post for me to take a photograph. we didn't want our home village in the sign post frame. The chap in the adjoining cafe came out and played hell and threatened to break my camera if I did not pay him. I walked away in amazement and to a tirade of abuse. I can understand if the village name was evident but we did not ask for it. Car parking is also very expensive for what was in all a disappointment regarding what was on offer.

The only comment I can make Matthew is that the road from Penzance to Sennen isn't the best of roads. I haven't towed my van there but stayed in a cottage at Sennen Cove. If you want to travel to other places around Cornwall whilst using Sennen as a base it can get a bit monotonous because you have to travel that 12 miles of bendy road each time to Penzance. I haven't been to the Lands End whateveryouwanttocallit since it became commercialised and have heard so many times that its a rip off. The Marazion C.C. site is very nice but has no shower block but its cheap. We will certainly use that one again.

Landsend- total rip off we also objected to paying to have a photo taken at the signpost and the bloke kept trying to walk in the way when we insisted on taking a photo. The price of the carpark was a rip off aswell as we still had to pay the allday rate even though it was late in the day and everything was closing

If you are in a public place and take a picture, it does not matter what is in the picture you cannot be told you have to pay for it.

This also appleies to private places you have paid entry for that do not have signs telling you not to take pictures

I reckon the best site in the area is Polmanter at Halsetown, just outside St Ives.

This is best located for exploring the West Penwith Peninsular. Don't get your hopes up about Land's End. As other posters have said, it's a great big rip-off.

Sennen Cove and Whitesand Bay are the best beaches in the area of Lands End but expensive to park at. The Old Success Inn at Sennen Cove serves very expensive pub fare. Three years ago I remember being charged nearly
