Hello,

Having spent the whole morning on this website instead of working, I can't shut it down until I've read everything. Now more questions are coming up, please can you help?

1. Where does everyone else store the spare wheel for the caravan? We have a Crown Sceptre, bought last year, and we only got round to getting a spare before we went to Devon this year. But we have no where to keep it, its too big for the caravan and there was no room in the car, Citroen Picasso at the time plus 3 kids and 2 adults and all the other stuff!

2. The telly - I know but with 3 kids I need one. Setting up an arial - any good points as how best to do this. We had 4 days of moaning kids until we finally got a picture. We don't have an arial fitted, would that be the best bet?

Any help, greatly appreciated.

Hi Ian,

Thanks very much for that. We did have a look underneath the caravan but its hard to actually see anything, there definitely wasn't a spare though. If we want to have the telly in the caravan are we going to have to drill through as I don't like the sound of that or is it best to just have the wires through the door?

Hi Alison

You have my sympathies with regards to kids moaning and TV reception etc. We have an aerial on our caravan although getting a decent picture has been difficult on some sites, we carry a combined DVD/ free to view with us. If we can't get a picture on the TV, we put one of the kids DVD's on, hubby tries to buy some of the new DVD's before we go away for long holidays and then we get them out if it rains etc. We record any favourite programmes to be watched when we return home. We also carry games which the kids are told we will play on holiday

In our previous caravan we used to put the spare wheel either in the back of the car or in the van in the centre on the wheel axile. Our current van has the spare wheel underneath the caravan. Still getting used to this with regard to reversing up our drive.

Good luck Annette

Hi Alison

I would imagine that your caravan has a dedicated area for the spare wheel. Why not ask to local dealer or email the manufacturers to find out where it is. I have not heard of any modern caravans having the carry a spare wheel inside during the journey.

With regard to TV reception have a look at the Compact TV boosters which can be placed anywhere inside the caravan (even outside on the roof if it is open). This piece of kit is great. It measures approximately 6" square x 1" wide. It opens up and has a battery inside. We have rarely had problems on sites (even ones with poor reception) whilst using one of these. They are available from caravan accessory shops and cost less than

Thank you to everyone who replied, I'm sorry but I haven't had chance to log on recently as had to actually work whilst here, inconsiderate or what?

I will definitely look into things for when we next go away. Got problems trying to get a towbar fitted at present!
