Late Night in Poole

We've booked 2 weeks away in France next year .
The problem I have is that we're booked on the Cherbourg Poole ferry which is due to land in Poole at 21:45. I was hoping we would be able to book a "late arrivals pitch" somewhere nearby, then continue on our way home to the North West the following morning.
However although I can book an overnight stay by that time of night no wardens will be on duty to let us in & I can't just book a late arrival pitch as they cant be reserved & we could turn up and there be no room.
Has anyone any suggestion where we could get a nights rest near Poole?

Tango,
If it is somewhere just to get your head for the night at that hour try Kings Park Bournemouth which is right next to the football ground other than that, Avon heath Country Park, just outside Bournemouth, check with Google the info is on there,

I don't see why the dockside park should not allow arrivals to stay, after all it's the same window of hours. Ring Brittany and ask, or Poole Harbour Board.
Area is right next to access roads although within port area. Not obviously secure, but quite a long way from the nearest pub.
There are a few CC CL's in the area some of which are open all year - they may be more amenable to a late arrival.
There are very limited laybys on roads leading away from Poole even if you fancied them and are quite often occupied by HGVs for the same purpose.
