Yep, I agree! I passed my car test, having been a fully responsible all year round motorcyclist for the previous 12 years, in Nov 98. Having always been the "main" driver in the house, with the wife besides me, and having driven an emergency vehicle at work regularly, I now find that if I want a motorhome with a MTPLM of 3850kg I need a new licence.

My wife who passed her test a couple of years before me can jump in and off she goes, although she wouldn't as she doesn't feel confident enough. My mother-in-law won't srive a car on the motorway or further than the next small town but could drive a 7.5t monster. In 2005 I drove several thousand miles around some really small roads in a fully laden 6 berth 'van in New Zealand follwing the Lions around, no problems there.

Yes, I feel hard done by, I understand there will be times where the line is drawn in the sand and it's not on my side, that doesn't stop me feeling gutted though!

I personally feel that driving a big motorhome is easier than driving a car plus caravan (something I do regularly). So perhaps I should feel harder done by than you?? :)
