There are some but you can never guarantee that they will not have hgv's in them. It would be better, and safer, to try for a CL/CS. Should get a basic pitch without any EHU etc for around £10-12.

I understand what you're saying, but sometimes the hassle of phoning ahead; checking in; paying.....is too much if all you want to do is rest for a few hours before continuing your journey. It is a pity we make it so difficult in this country......even at motorway service stations.

M5 Junction 27 has a good layby on the Tiverton / Barnstaple road off the roundabout. This may be too far down for you to consider, though.
