Do any of you use you LCD TV and run it from the caravan 12V system do you run the power direct or use a power regulator?
Richard I do a lot of rallying know hundreds of caravaners who do the same as me on 12 volts for close on thirty years with never a problem. J.Lohi
Sorry did not read properly, there was posting some time ago by someone who sounded very knowledgable about these things, his answer was never run off the 12 volt system, due to the fluctuation in voltage, where a battery will give 15.3 volts on a full charge and still gives 12 volts plus when empty, his advise at the time was always run on mains.
on mine i can run on 240 or if no hook up i use a 12 volt line and run on that. my set will run on 12 to 24 volts according to the book. i used it at easter for about 4 hours a day for 4 days on 12 volt and the old acid drop held its charge a treat. that included all normal usage ,pump, lights heater ,etc.Daniel, When not on EHU I run my LCD TV directly from the van 12v via the DC lead supplied with it. I have never had any problems with it as the battery looses charge but I have never let the battery go flat either. Perhaps it could depend on the make of TV and how good it is- mine is supplied to be worked of a varying DC supply of 11-16v.
When on holiday last year I had a seperate battery for the TV and the kids watched a DVD and some TV each evening TV for a week and it worked fine all the time. Ray
