Hello All,

Has anyone been to the campsite Le Brasilia or the campsite Les Rivages? If so, what are your views on them please? Also, can anyone recommend a campsite close to Mont Ventoux?

Many thanks and best wishes,

Jonah.

We stayed at Les Rivages at Millau 2 years ago. The campsite is large and very popular in high season. There is everything you need on site - shops, entertainment, sport facilities etc. There is loads to do in the surrounding area and Millau is just a short walk from the site.

We enjoyed it so much we are going back this year for 2 weeks in the summer.

In 2008 we stayed at the municipal campsite at Bollene. Nine nights cost 107 euro's in May 2008.

The full name is; Camping Municipal Du Lez, 84500 Bollene.

It's not far off the autoroute de soliel actually in the centre of the town. Very helpful manager who spoke very good English. From there we had a day trip to Mont Ventoux and also Vaison La Romaine.

The site is by the side of a river (the 'Lez') but there is little access as it is at the bottom of a deep gulley. There are no special facilities as is common to a lot of Municipal sites in France, but it is only a few minutes walk into the old town with cafes, supermarkets, bread shops etc.

The site is all hard standings and the toilet facilities(unisex)are well cared for. If "no frills" is what you want, it's worth considering.

We've stayed at Les Rivages a few times now - usually in low season, when it takes an ACSI card, and costs just 15 euros per night, all-in. We had a riverside pitch, with a view of the Millau viaduct. Pitches are generally a good size, grassy, some with hedges between, others more open, the sanitary blocks are fine, there are a couple of swimming pools, and a restaurant which did very good value 'Menus du Jour' with 3 course for 9 euros when we were last there a couple of years ago. It's walking distance into Millau centre, and there are always paragliders flying over the site, which is spectacular when a lot of them are airbourne!

We also enjoyed it - in low season it's much more low-key and quiet, with no activities, and the shop isn't open - but there are many shops in Millau centre, and three large supermarkets on the outskirts, all selling cheap fuel!

We may be back this year! If I could post a picture on here of the site then I would so do (I've downloaded the instructions but haven't studied them yet).

Hello Graeme, Michael and Val,

Thankyou all so much for your replies, they are gratefully received, thanks.

We shall be looking at Les Rivages unless any of you can recommend a nice campsite in the Ardeche?

Best wishes,

Jonah.

I can - several

L'Ardechois, at Vallon Pont d'Arc

Camping International at Vallon Pont d'Arc

Camping Mondial as above

Camping Provencal as above

Ranc Davaine on the Chassesac at St Alban Auriolles (big, fantastic pool complex)

Domaine de Gil near Aubenas

Ranc Davaine and Domaine de Gil are both ACSI sites, like Les Rivages, and I think cost 15 euros per night with the ACSI card.
