Intended to stay at Poinsouze last June for 2-3 days and stayed for 11 days. You will not be disappointed, it is excellent from the first class facilities (you won't find a cleaner site) to the large pitches. The electric varies from pitch to pitch so be sure you choose that which suits you, you will be asked to pay a small extra charge on top of your Camping Cheque for the 10-16 amp pitches. If you are of the fishing fraternity then choose a pitch near the lake (some of which are sloping). There are two supermarkets in Boussac and a Chateau. Further afield you could visit Aubusson for its tapestries and several lakes with beaches scattered around the area. The walks and cycling immediately from the camp are many, varied and excellent. There is a Lidl store in la Chatre for your wines, well worth the visit. Found Montlucon impossible to park in so went straight through. Perhaps I'll find a parking space this year because I am going back to Poinsouze, so this, coming from someone hard to please, must be a recommendation in itself. Happy Hols.
