Leak or condensation?

We're pretty new to caravaning after being campers for some years and purchasing our caravan in January. We have just used our new full Starcamp awning for the first time last week. It seems pretty good epsecially for the price. However, in heavy rain in the middle of the day I noticed water dripping from the alloy roof poles. when I lifted the roof from the poles you could see water collecting along the line of the poles on the underside of the fabric and not at seam locations.

Being a camper I am pretty used to seeing condensation but this was in the middle of the day and the rest of the awning seemed pretty condensation free.

Could this be a problem with the roof material or is this not uncommon?

Many thanks in advance.

i dont know if it applies to modern materials , but i think they need a good soaking before the stitching holes shrink and tighten up

John, I have had two Starcamp awnings and the pair of them showed the same problem as yours. Get yourself a "TUBE" of seam sealer, and use as directed, and do all the front top seams. Problem solved no more wet.

Good luck. JTS.
