I have a 590 swift and i am getting water at the bottom of the door but i canc't tell frpm where, it doesnt seem to happen wirh the awning up which made me think it was coming through the door so i sealed the door up last week and then went to have a look after the heavy rain we just had and it was soaking. the door sits on a small rise from the floor and its the small box section which seems to be getting wet.

Craig, how have you tried to re-seal the door?
If you have put mastic around the door frame which on my van has a very small protrusion of only a few millimetres it would needed to have been spotlessly clean as the new mastic will not form a proper seal on old existing mastic. The only real solution is to remove the frame completey and spend hours cleaning it up, and new mastic to form a new seal, not a job for the faint hearted but if you have good DIY skills it can be done.
This is only my opinion and not a professional one.
What mastic did you use? Is it a dedicated caravan one? (Sikaflex / Soudal)
I did read some where that an SMP tape should be used for door frame's but check this info out before starting work or may be one of our more quailified members could confirm that one.
Have you checked the rubber seal on the back of the door?
How old is your van?
Good luck.

Have you checked the awning rail just above the door. Several Swifts have a join in the rail at this point - which is barmy! The gap can widen, and then water get in through the gap in the rail/seal underneath and run down until it reaches the floor area. Or, is your awning light directly above the door - could it be coming in that way - if the screw holes and rubber seal are letting in water.
Both of these are problems that our neighbours have had during this very wet summer.

Thanks for your posts and I'll look at that awaning rail and the light good suggestions, the door will have to be stripped down I think but I'll leave that for someone with a bit more DIY skills than me. Went to the van yesterday to dry up what had come through again, I stripped of the fly screen and the box section it sits on, the box section is ruined and will need a new one but at least now I can see where the water is coming from when I go back with a hoze and shower it with water.

I managed to take the hose pipe to where I store the caravan and hosed the door down, the water is coming down under the actual seal on the door it self then leaking on to the floor, I think it is originating from where the two doors come together on the stable part.

Themass31, I also have a 590 and I am for ever tightening the catch that hold the two parts of the door together but luckily the seal between the two parts seems to be ok
