We purchased a brand new Bailey Valencia caravan this year. The probem is that the compartment door that is access to storage is below the fixed bed leaks both when the door is closed and also water falls in when the door is opened.
We have been in touch with Baileys but they say the problem is not down to them ???? We now have to regularly wipe dry everytime we open the door and also keep a damp trap in the compartment permenantly.
Has anyone had a similar experience

Hmmmmm!!

Hello Gwladys.

Based on what you tells us it does seem ridiculous to be told that an external door that lets in water is not the fault of the caravan manufacture.
However legally as a customer your remedy lies with the party in your contract that sold you the goods - your seller. The seller is in breach of the Sale of Goods act by simply supplying goods that are not fit for purpose. If you have used a finance credit agreement or even a credit card to purchase the caravan them you should contact them as well as your dealer. Under section 75 of the Consumer credit act the finance house is jointly responsible if goods are faulty.

I suggest you look here for some high quality advice

know

Do you have this problem when it is dry?
So you open the hatch then find water?
My Bailey did this for two years. .
A new door fixed it. The inner panel was leaking from the seals in the door itself.
Tell them , the dealer, to give you a new door.
