leaking regulator

i have a faint smell of gas when you open the front locker also there is a yellow oil type of liquid coming from the regulator does this mean the smell is escaping with this oil what remedys are there or what can i do to fix this

As with any gas related safety issue, stop using your gas immediately, and turn it off at the bottle. replace the regulator and I suspect the hose as well.

As Steve says, you should not need to ask this question, yet alone on a web site.

a new regulator on the bulkhead is 50 and not 5 pounds need to find differant route as others have suggested gas falling back to regulator when not being used and swelling the seals thus the leaking

This is a no brainer. By all means carry on but very soon your gas system will clog up. That's if you are lucky and haven't had an explosion first!!

Buy a new regulator asap and preferably have it installed and the whole system checked by an authorised gas fitter.

Cheers
