My son has just brought a swift 460 se 04 model as his first van.It is the model with the "L" shaped lounge area. His first jaunt was last week to Norfolk where over the easter wk/end it snowed(7" in total!).By the 2nd day of snow,he noticed that the nearside cushions in the lounge were wet at the corner of the "L".The window had not been opened due to the bad weather. No leakage was noted on walls/windows over the whole of the wk/end and no obvious cause was apparent. The van is now on my driveway under "observation" and despite further wet weather no re-occurance as yet,has been noted.Has anyone else experienced this or offer explanation of cause?Help much appreciated.

Hiya Christine

If there is no apparent leak or dampness it that area, just a suggestion there could be a window that does not shut onto the seals fully and depanding on the angle of the rain it will sometimes come in and sometimes not,I have the same problem on my van,it doesnt leak at the front end but when towing sometimes with the angle of the rain it will drive in but it doesnt happen all the time, hope you find the problem, regards Eddie

I thought about the condensation aspect but my son assures me that he had the extractor fan on to combat condensation occuring. The amount of wettness present was conciderably more than,I feel, that condensation could cause plus only this area was affected.Thankyou for your imput tho!As for the window suggestion,I will investigate that tomorrow(weather permitting! Many Thanks,Chris.

just thought I'd update on my "leaky" prob as I hope that it may help other with a similar experience.I did look at the window as suggested and found a gap big enough to get my fingers thru when shut.My son rang the dealer and the van was returned for investigation/cure.It turned out that the window had dislodged from fixings at the top in which water was getting in as it fell from the roof. This has duly been corrected and a new seal is now in place all under warranty. Many thanks, chris.
