We are thinking of using Lech Camping, which is just off the A8 Autobahn near Augsburg in Germany, for one night this summer. Does anyone know the site? Is it OK for a stop over?

Many thanks for your reply.I haven't been there myself but I checked the German ADAC Auto Club's campsite guide, which is usually very reliable, and it makes no negative remarks about this site. It says it's situated in a picturesque setting on a long sandy beach by a lakeside and in the middle of a wood. As it's not far from the autobahn, it's not given a particularly quiet rating, but I guess you're already aware of that and that won't bother you as you're only going to use it while in transit. It has 100 pitches.
If you are refering to Donau-Lech Camping, in Donauworth we stayed here for 2 nights on our return journey from Italy in 2002 and are about to book an overnight stay there for our trip to Italy in July. It is a very nice site and well situated for an overnight stop. I am booking in advance this time as in 2002 we just called in whilst passing and were lucky that a large group from Holland had just left leaving plenty of empty pitches. Had we arrived the day before we would have been unlucky.I haven't been there myself but I checked the German ADAC Auto Club's campsite guide, which is usually very reliable, and it makes no negative remarks about this site.
