I intend buying an elecsol carbon fibre battery for my new van. Can anyone suggest a suitable good quality battery charger for it ? Obviously, I will be charging on the van most of the time but I have read that its a good idea to charge off the van from time to time.

I have an Elecsol battery and use a Selmar Guardian charger. This is designed to be used with deep cycle batteries such as the Elecsol. I spent some time trawling the web for a good price at the time, can't remember where I ended up now, but the web page below will show you a bit of info about it:

As built-in caravan chargers only usually go up to around 13.8 volts, it's advised by the Elecsol website to charge it with a standalone charger occasionally to 14.8 volts, which will then prevent sulphation of the plates. See the following web page:

As I have an onboard mover I need a powerful reliable battery, and so far the Elecsol had done the job well.
