Hi "Harvey," and welcome.
First thing I'd check is that you're getting power into the van from the mains hookup. If you have the traditional 3-way fridge, does that work on the mains hookup? If you have 230v lights, or mains sockets, check those.
If none of your mains equipment works, check that you've got power to the socket you've plugged into.
Next, look for the trip switches, usually located very close to where the mains comes into the van. There will be a "main" one, a bit larger than the others, and often two or more smaller ones. All need to be in the "on" position.
If all that's OK, and everything else is working on mains, I'd suspect a fuse. There will probably be one somewhere on the thick (usually red) cable from the leisure battery's "+" terminal.
If none of that helps, tell us the make and model of your van and we'll see if one of our regulars is familiar with it.

I don't know anything about that particular model I'm afraid but, in case you don't have the handbooks, I note that they can be downloaded from http://www.bessacarr-owners-club.org/info-centre/user-manuals.aspx. Pages 34 on of the 2005 Owners Handbook give advice regarding the electrical system.

If that advice doesn't provide a fix I guess it's probably time to contact your dealer/engineer.

Graham

EDIT. Just another thought. You don't say how long you have had the van but if it is a recent purchase the dealer should fix it under warranty.

There were problems with the Nordelectronica Control Panels & chargers fitted Swift motorhomes built around this period. Have a look on the SwiftTalk forum. There are a couple of companies regularly posting who capable of repairs to the units.

IIRC Sargents (Hull) who now supply Swifts also have a solution. Information is on their website.

Ordering through a dealer will be a protracted delivery compared to the above.

Hope some of that is helpful "Harvey."
Graham and John are regulars here, they usually know what they're talking about.
And in case you're not aware, Bessacar is part of the Swift Group, hence John's reference to Swift vans. Often the only difference is the badge.

Update - if it is the Charger this link may help :- http://www.leisureshopdirect.com/caravan/electric/product_48160/transformer_charger_sargent_px300_replacement_for_nordelectrica_ne143.aspx
