Please,

Can we get back to normal posting instead of continually nipping at other people.

This used to be a fun site to read and take part in.

Enough is enough.

Sorry about the noise but if you look at my last post in the thread you are talking about I have placed a note that explains it.

Liz I agree with you fully regarding this forum - it has gone from a friendly helpful forum to a forum of miserable backstabbing contributers whose sole aim is to upset one and another. Lets get back to the original friendly, helpful and often humourous forum of old and forget the events of the past few days.

Here here, I sometimes wonder if people are irate before they come on this forum, all this modern computer technology that i read about doesnt help, Im quite happy to chug along on windows 98, no fear of intruders, they are going for much more updated systems.

These posts say it all.

I've removed the thread 'VIP you forgot something' as it just continued and became an extension of the one it was intended to draw a line under.

There are 3 moderators. For genuine and personal reasons two prefer to remain anonymous. That is the way this forum works.

Now, as Colin says, lets get back to the original friendly, helpful and often humourous forum of old.

I've got to disagree with you there Colin. People have been posting what they feel so I don't see any back stabbing there. Miserable people, O.K. theres one or two but that happens whatever walk of life you are in. Helpful forum? I can't see it has changed, people are still helping each other in their posts. The recent argument surrounds the Moderators and if anyone can get their knickers in a wad over such a trifling, piffing childish matter and leave the forum because of it I'm afraid the forum is better off without them. I will personally hold the door open for them. It's sad really but I suppose VIP, in truth, left because he had lost face and his complaint had backfired on him. Maybe he was trying to start a peasants revolt, damn him :O(

If you want peace surely thers should be Openess and Transparency re the running of the site and moderation.

Removal of the thread does exactly what, the matter re Mod's also being users is again buried until by chance somebody says the wrong thing and it rears its head again.

People here moan that Blair and Government ignore the views of the people. Mod 1 pulls the thread and posts "That is the way this forum works." what respect does that show for members questions!

Maybe the time has come for Mods 1, 2 and 3 to stand down and let someone else (NOT ME) give it a fresh approach and for the hosts to have more input.

A polite reasonable post I made ended with the question re how long it would remain in place. Less than 24 hours!

Exactly where does removal of all the thread lay with "Friendly, Helpful and Humerous".

Mods actions of the past day or so seem to suggest that they can post what they want and Bait a member and then remove posts if they don't like the response.

The posts involved others and not me!

Time has come for the editor or who ever really runs the site to get some fresh blood in and say a big thank you to mod 1, 2 and 3.

Now Lord B and cris, have you not both the read the posting "Lets have some peace"

Cris why do we need new Moderators.

Nothing wrong with Mod 1,2 and especially Mod 3 our Steve.

I went to sleep quite happy last, woke up this morning, fresh start on the forum, and look what I find. Hehehe

Mods, carry on the good work .

The removed member had 3 accounts on this Forum. If it involves baiting to flush them out bait away.

A little more honesty from some members would help achieve "Openess and Transparency "

Your post could be taken as an attempt to continue/resurrect yesterday's debate about moderators.

Please read my post above.

"There are 3 moderators. For genuine and personal reasons two prefer to remain anonymous. That is the way this forum works."

I hate to say it, but anyone who is not happy with the status quo does not have to visit this forum.

cris,

In response to your comment that "Mods should only hold the post for a limited time" I think you are inferring that new blood should be brought in. Nice try in theory but it doesn't work out in practice. Why? Because nobody wants the thankless job hence your comment........ "Maybe the time has come for Mods 1, 2 and 3 to stand down and let someone else (NOT ME) ".

Hi all

Give yourselves a break from these postings and have a look at the jokes, there are some good ones, even though one of them is mine. Enjoy.

Sorry Les , with some of the posts lately about the Mods I thought I was reading the jokes ;O)

It amazes me how some can take this Forum so seriously. Argueing every point as if their life depended on it and when backed into corner surrounded by facts they turn to abuse and invent some "friends" to back them up.

I'll say this to the Mods..

Keep up the good work , and the sooner you rid this site of the self opinionated ,abusive types who blattently use multi ID's to disrupt the Forum the better.

I would go further, Brian. Our present mods do an excellent job of work. This site does seem to have collected quite a few more names recently though. Some are genuine, some are not, all the same, the numbers are growing and three mods can only do so much. So perhaps it's time to allocate more? This way, if a thread is "evolving the wrong way", there are more mods out there to spot it earlier and post a warning. As apposed to deleting the thread after the damage is done.

I won't of course be applying for the position, it's all a bit too technical for me and the gain in power and status will corrupt me even further.

There again, I might just be throwing you all of the scent....

Steve, does the delete button look like this?
