In light of wot Caravan Oracle has posted(i dont agree or disagree with him)We can show support for dealers we like to use who give us excellent service where the customer is King.

I over the years have used 4 dealers 3 i would recommend to anyone and 1 would only recommend to my worst enemy.

Tom.

ps can we name them Mr Mod

Hi Tom

I had my first caravan from Michael Jordan in 1978. He must being something right.

Do you live near Swindon? Their shop is one of the best around and the staff, Nicky and Jemma are a mine of info.

Cheers

Hi Dustydog

I live in Guildford ,Jordans is one of the best dealers around it was unforunate he didnt have the van we wanted last year so a quick look on the old internet and we found exactly what we wanted at Swindons and at a very good price plus excellent px price so the deal was done .I agree with you the staff we dealt with at Swindons where first class nothing was any trouble for them.we had a warranty problem with the van ,no problem sorted out in 3 days and they came to us .

First class Dealer.

As stated on Caravan Oracle's thread, I will happily recommend Chichester Caravans (I have only used Uckfield so I cannot comment on any other branches) for sales.

For servicing I have been happy with East Coast Leisure in Basildon.

Broad Lane, Daventry branch is the place where we have bought our last two brand new vans from, and we wouldn't go anywhere else. All the staff, from the boss Dave Brown down, are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful - all this without being in the least bit pushy or 'salesmanlike'. They take the time to get to know you and remember all sorts of details about you.....we count them as friends and they're like one big happy family there. We've had service and warranty work done there and have always been more than satisfied.

To Tom and Dustydog,

Funny how peoples experiences are different.

Our thread "Collecting Swift Conqueror 2009" was purchased from one of the dealers you both praise !!

I have to agree with soozeg.

It's Broad Lane, Daventry for us.

Really lovely bunch of guys.

We only bought the caravan last weekend, and are looking at having a long and happy relationship with them. They made the whole buying experience from start to finish very enjoyable.

One I wouldn't recommend goes buy a make of bread in Mansfield, Notts. Wouldn't use them if they were giving them away for free.

We have bought caravans (new and used) from both Blazers and Sunnyhaven in Swansea. They are sister companies but must admit that the service at Sunnyhaven was far superior and therefore we have bought two vans from them without hesitation. Ian Fern (the top man at Sunnyhaven) was brilliant on both occassions and could not do enough for us.

For serviceing we go to Caravanmaster at Talbot Green as it is a recognised Bailey service centre and closer to us than Swansea. Again the service there has been first class. Byron the proprioter is both helpful and a mind of useful caravan information.

I would have no hesitation in recommending either Sunnyhaven at Swansea to buy either new or used caravan or Caravanmaster at Talbot Green for servicing.

Salop Caravans at Cosford, Nr Wolverhampton are excellent. Sales staff, Bob and boss Mervyn are knowledgeable, straight forward and not pushy. They also check you have the right car before they sell. Their technicians are brilliant, obliging, cheerful and skilled. We have tested them to the full with so many warranty problems- almost all with third parry equipment.

My vote goes to Dickinsons Caravans in Bradford. Our van was delivered to us 100% fault free and immaculately prepared. We have had a few minor things attended to under warranty, but all work has been done efficiently and without quibble. When the second charger failed (bit annoying!) this was replaced FOC and they gave me helpful advice over the phone when my attempts to fit it myself identified my lack of technical skill!

Fitting the charger yourself ! Are you a qualified and certified electrical technician ?

You might have just invalidated your warranty.

Manufacturers don't like the owners "doing it themselves" during the warranty period and when any warranty claim is put forward questions are asked and must be truthfully answered.

Don't panic! The unit is a simple plug and play. Unfortunately the 12 volt connector is capable of being played the wrong way. Easily sorted with phone help from dealer (who suggested I do it myself). Van just out of warranty too.

Hi Jim

I can't find your original post. What date and subject is it?

If it's Wiltshire then I am surprised. If it's Surrey then I haven't been there since 1978 but I would have thought things would have improved. Just goes to show how we all get differing experiences. Sorry it seems yours was not a good one.

Cheers

I bought my van from Golden Castle who were very professional, friendly and gave me the feeling I was a valued customer but also while having a recent gas related problem whilst in Wales I found Discover Newport were of great help in sorting out my problems. These are two that I would like to mention

Another Broad Lane Daventry fan - we have bought 2 new caravans from them, always helpful and no pressure. We bought our latest caravan private but they were happy to sell our Burgundy for us, obviously they had to make a profit as that's why they are in business, but I had a trouble-free transaction and got what I wanted for it.

Excellent team!

I can fully recomend Golden Castle Caravans at Staverton Airport site.

I have dealt with them for over 20 years and have purchased 8 new caravans from them.

Excellent service, Pdi's first class, serviceing first class.

They make you feel a valued customer.

From home it is a 350 mile round trip, but would not change my dealer at any cost.

As i have said previously on this forum it is wonderfull to have complete peace of mind!
