Levelling with a motor mover fitted?

In the past I have used ordinary levelling ramps to laterally level the caravan. However, I have had a Reich motor mover fitted to my present caravan which means I cannot tow the caravan up the ramp. Reversing it on to the ramp has proved a nightmare. Has anyone any suggestions?

I`m sorry but I really don`t understand the question.

Why would a mover stop you towing onto a ramp, and even if the car wasn`t attached, why not use the mover to ride onto the ramp?

We have had the same problem

The answer was on this forum a while ago.

It suggested and that is what I do

Get a few 12inch long wood strips and a few 6"2 0r so ong start with the 12" and built up using the various strips using your mover a foot or so each way.

It was also suggested that if on hard standings use a mat between the wheel and the stone to prevent stone embedding in the tyres and damaging your rollers.

With the regard to the wood no doubt some tech wizz out there will explain it better.

I have used in this year on pitches I had struggled with on previous visits, a doddle

The commercial ramps are too high for a mover particularly if the ground is wet the opposite wheel skids round

Ah! Not conversant with the Reich thingies.

I am used to a Powrtouch mover and can both tow onto ramps or use the mover (motor for each wheel) to climb a ramp if needs be without the wheelspin you describe. I also don`t encounter problems with `commercial` ramps despite the units being in front of the axle.

Just assumed all would have similar capabilities, hence the `I don`t understand` bit.

Ramp used has a slight curve to the base so as you drive on it rises up and whacks the housing of the Reich mover. Perhaps I should try using a flat-based Fiamma style ramp?
