Hi Ian,

I have a "roll on / wind up" type of lever (Dixon-Bate) my only problem is I have to lean on the side of the van to counter the turn as the van goes onto the level. I dont know, but you may have to lean on the van more with a ramp type level.

I hope this is of some help!

ian

i find the only way is to use a gradual ramp say over 4 foot, at the same time assist the mover by pushing on the ramp side of the van.

often its easier to position the van with the mover in line with the ramp and use the car to reverse it on.

im sure there is a better way, just a system i have got use to using.

Greetings Ian,

Like you I found difficulty in getting the 'van onto the ramp to level it and it has taken me a long time to work it out.

The solution is to put the 'non ramp' wheel where you want it to be and the ramp where you want it to be with the wheel of the 'ramp' side either in front of, or behind the ramp.(Depending whether you are going forwards or backwards onto the ramp)

You then drive the wheel of the 'van on the ramp side only, ONTO THE RAMP.

It will mean that the caravan starts from a position of being out of line but, in driving it onto the ramp with the mover it goes on line.

If like me you have tried to drive both wheels, one on and the other off the ramp the van goes anywhere IT wants but NOT where YOU want it to.

I hope the above makes sense (hope springs eternal!!!)

del i agree all with what you say it all depends on how high you need to lift your van to level it. what i use is several pieces of laminated flooring .strips about 12" long if you need to lift very high then i would use my ramp the same way as you described it but have never had to use more than a few strips on top of each other then you just step them up 1 then 2 then 3 over 2 or three feet or if not needing a lot of height just make a small pile of stones from the hard standing with the strip of laminate on top and drive your van up onto it .have never had to lift the van more than 1 to 2 incher to get it level .might just have beed lucky.(p.s.)mostly use CC& C&CC sites where most are just about level .hope this helps Duggie
