Hi folks, dreaded damp on a wee bit of van and had engineer out who said given age of caravan he wouldn't risk taking rail off to fix as he was worried about frame. He said if he owned it at this point he would just use a sealer like Tec7 on it and apply it neatly - he said £30-£60 for sealer vs £1k+ for rail repair. So we tried using tec7 but its not really stuck as well as I would have liked to the aluminium. Just wondering if anyone else had a better product they would recommend for this that would last a bit better than the tec7?

Well if someone who repairs caravans for a living suggests a product I would imagine that woud be the best one for the job.
Like most jobs it's the preparation that's vital. If you are unhappy with the sealants adhesion then I would remove it all, use some fine wet and dry to remove any traces of corrosion or surface contaminates on the rail. Then clean it with meths before applying the Tec7 again.
