Never mind rain - wait till you tow in the dark, the lights tend to reflect back right into your face! All Baileys are the same as well as several other makers.

One solution would be to swap the position with the front reflectors - re-wiring hasle though - remove the bulbs or slap some Duck tape over them which is what I do when towing at night.

Good point about the design though, van designers obviously don't test their products at night and why have you never read a bad review about the problem in a Van Mag test?

They're designed that way - so that the towcar isn't obstructing them!

They're a legal requirement so don't mess around with them.

I can see my caravan's front marker lights in my mirrors but they're not a problem wet/dry or light/dark - but then I have my eyesight regularly checked.

Thats a given for the front marker lites cats eyes Roger but I think you will find that some makers put them at the bottom of the van which is more sensible and still not obscured by the towcar, unless of course you have extended wheel arches and dragster tyres. In fact there was an article in a recent PM describing how to change the position of said lights but as I said too much hassle for me.
