Lightweight Gas Cylinders

Can anyone advise me on the situation with l/w gas cylinders.

I have a 2006 Coachman Pastiche with a regulator attached to the front bulkhead in the forward locker space. As I understand it the lightweight Calor Gas Cylinder is propane, for which you require a different regulator, this obviously replaces the other fitted (Butane) regulator, will everything then run as normal? or are there any jets to change etc:

Or maybe it's not worth the hassle! as they go back to the old threaded regulator rather than the clip on.

If you have the regulator fitted to the bulk head then you just need to have the right hose to fit on the bottle. Well at least thats what my dealer told me when I switched to BP.

The Truma bulkhead regulators will run butane or propane you just have to get the right 'pigtail' for the bottle you choose. I personally am using CalorLite propane because I don't like/trust the clip on connectors that Truma/BP use.

These was a problem with some of the 2005/6 Truma regulators clogging up and although there was not a 'recall' your dealer will fit the upgraded unit FOC should the problem arise. Last week I had mine changed on a 2006 Bessacarr cameo. They are now mounted higher with a 90 degree angle at the top.

Bill.

I have already changed the bulkhead regulator as it did develop a problem. I bought a Calor Lite (Sounds like an American cigarette!!)cylinder last week and was told (wrongly) that I needed a different regulator, I will take it back and get just the connector.

Thanks for your help
