Lithium battery

Can a lithium battery be fitted into most caravans and be charged via the onboard charger? What about the solar panel charger? I am only asking as have no knowledge and at present we do not required a battery change.

If you buy the right one, yes. I came across a brand (which I can't remember) at a Southampton Boat Show five or six years ago where the battery contained all the necessary to control the charge from a Lead Acid or AGM charge profile. I guess it fiddled with the apparent battery voltage and current to fool the charger...

Found it!

You'll notice these are LiFe batteries which are a good deal safer than Lithium Polymer (I use 1Ah now for powering the kit on my RC racing yacht

Listening to Roll over Beethoven yesterday in the pub in Frampton. Lithium batteries are a lot lighter, but very heavy on the wallet.
