load up car or van ?

Hi , i have a C Max 2000td, and a bailey senetor van, 2 berth.which way of loading gives best fuel consumption. The car on its own gives 60mpg trvelling at60mph but pulling the van down to 30mpg. Is it better to load car up as there is only two of us and tow a lighter van or fill the van

If fuel consumption is your only concern then there is no difference where the payload is placed, in the car or in the caravan. However, for stability it's always preferable to have as much in the car as possible.
