Lockloy Leveller

Has anyone got experience of this leveller?

Someone told me its only rated up to 1250 kgs, which seems a ridiculously low figure to me, although I did recently see two being used on a twin axle Lunar.

Just looked on the Net, yes it is, don't waste your money, i have one, extremely hard work,also if on grass and the leveller sinks in , its a b**ch to get out!

Hi Arthur.

I have the Bulldog leveller which is made from steel rather than alluminium which the Lockloy is made from. Obviously, this is heavier than the Lockloy but can lift more weight. To be honest, I wouldn't be without it, I can get the van spot on and it doesn't take long at all to level up. As for grass, I have a lump of 20mm thick ply which the leveller sits on and spreads the weight of the van, therefore it doesn't sink into the grass. I got mine from Ebay for about 30 quid, I think they are about 80 quid new.

I agree with Steve I wasted my money on it.It was designed to be used with a portable drill,but they are not powerful to drive the screw mechanism,so a socket ratchet has to be used,hard work and takes a long time

1250 kgs is the limit for lifting ONE side of the caravan, that makes 2500 kgs plus the noseweight over 3000 kgs!

Don't know any 'vans that heavy!

Also if you run the wheel onto a 6" X 6" X 1" block of wood before using a leveller, you can withdraw it easier.
